Sharing a RoundFair Session Through iCloud

RoundFair shares sessions through Apple's iCloud, so your group sees the same rounds and balances on their own iPhones without a RoundFair account.

How sharing works

RoundFair has no servers of its own. When you share a session, it is shared between the participants' iCloud accounts through Apple's CloudKit. Everyone who joins sees rounds and balances update as they change. Sharing is optional: you can also run a session on your own phone and share a plain text summary at the end.

What you need

Working offline

RoundFair is offline-first. Rounds you add without a signal are stored on your device and sync through iCloud when your phone is back online, so a bar with no reception never blocks the night.

If changes do not appear

Privacy

Shared session data stays inside Apple's iCloud and never passes through a RoundFair account or server. See the privacy policy and the live sharing feature.

Frequently asked questions

Does everyone need the app to see a shared session?

To follow live, yes. Friends without the app can read the plain text summary you export.

Do I need a RoundFair account to share?

No. Sharing uses each person's own iCloud account.

Does sharing work without internet?

You can keep adding rounds offline. Changes sync when the device is back online.
